Making the Most of The British Newspaper Archive
Newspapers are a crucial source for family historians. Alongside basic genealogical information they provide context to your family’s story. The British Newspaper Archive offers over 20 million pages of historic newspapers from all over the UK and Ireland. In this talk Aoife O Connor explores this vast resource and shows you how to make the most of it. This talk will give you an overview of the newspapers available on the BNA website. Aoife O Connor (from Find My Past) is Data Delivery Manager for The British Newspaper Archive. In her work Aoife oversees the digitisation of newspapers from the holdings of the British Library. Aoife is also a PhD candidate with the University of Sheffield. Her studies are focused on the use of the records of the historic criminal justice system by family historians.
