The New Year has bought us new celebrities and we can't wait to share them with you! Joining Natasha Kaplinsky, will be Olympic athlete, Colin Jackson CBE. He'll be in the Celebrity Theatre on Saturday and his story features the results of DNA testing. After the popularity last year of DNA as a new method to explore your ancestry, we're sure you'll find the way DNA was used to discover Colin's heritage fascinating.

We're also waiting for confirmation any day now of who will grace the theatre on Friday – we're very excited about this one and can promise it'll feature more than one person. One to keep you guessing but all will be revealed in the next two weeks.

One day back in the office and we've been busy sending the show guide off to the printers. It's a job that takes up an enormous effort from everyone on the team; Lucinda complies the A-Z Exhibitor listing, Mark and I put the content together to give everything the information they need to make the most out of the show, Tamara has to ensure that the floor plan is as correct as it can be at this point in time; David has to check that the sponsor and exhibitor information is correct. It's a truly group effort. We have included a picture of Lucinda on this blog as a thank you for all of her hard work on the show guide!

With only seven weeks to go, the pressure is piling on with so many things to organise. We want everyone who has ever been interested in exploring their family tree to benefit from coming to the show and we need to make sure they know about it. We have a very loyal base of visitors and it's important to us that we provide new features every year. We also know though, that our event is the highlight of the family history calendar giving, not only visitors but experts too, the chance to get together and share stories and tips. Else Churchill from the Society of Genealogists is always quick to point out that if someone can't help you, there will be someone under the Olympia roof who can.

Come and experience benefit from that help yourself!
