NEW! Our Working Past

We’re excited to announce our new, interactive feature for 2012 which aims to throw a little light on the working lives of our ancestors.

'Our Working Past' will consist of a number of relevant displays relating to long lost occupations and the daily life of the worker. You'll find a range of well-known professions in the area from postal workers to nurses, agricultural workers and more.

We’ll have a number of exhibitors bringing the tools of their trades to the show; setting up ‘micro-zones’ and showing our visitors how these workers would have spent their day. This will be an interactive experience allowing you to examine up close the artefacts of these working lives and understand more about the requirements of the job.

You'll find hands–on displays including objects, archives, records, photographs, films and books as well as knowledgeable staff willing to talk through their displays with you at the show. So why not come to 'Our Working Past' and learn more about what working life was really like for your ancestors?
