New for 2012, we are introducing the Keynote Workshop which will address current important issues in genealogy.
This year, we will be looking at the development of social networking in technology and how it can help in genealogical research. The 2010's will be the decade of social networking, providing a vast source of new genealogical data. Large numbers of individuals will be attracted to social networking websites incorporating family-orientated virtual communities. These websites will be easy to use, supporting collaboration in the research and recording of family history.
The presentation will cover both general social networks such as Facebook and specialist genealogy-orientated social networking websites. The lecturer will illustrate how breakthroughs can be made using a variety of strategies to benefit by new researchers and experienced genealogists.
The presentation will be followed by a Question & Answer session where invited panelists will take questions from the floor.
The Keynote Workshop will take place on Saturday 25th from 1pm - 2.45pm.
Tickets will cost £5 and can be bought when booking your ticket to the show or on the day of the event.
