Nicky Campbell to appear at the show

Nicky Campbell

Winner of six Sony Gold Radio Awards, presenter of BBC1 consumer show 'Watchdog' for 9 years and currently presenter of ITV's 'Long Lost Family' with Davina McCall, Nicky Campbell is more than qualified to come to the show and share his views on the joys and pitfalls of researching your family history. Subject of a 2007 episode of Who Do You Think You Are?, Nicky looked into the history of his adoptive family.

Nicky's episode of Who Do You Think You Are? was an adoption special in 2007.

Nicky was adopted a few days after he was born in 1961 by Frank and Sheila Campbell. His biological mother, Stella Lackey, was unmarried, and had travelled from Ireland to give birth. Although she sent Christmas cards for the first five years of Nicky's life, they had no direct contact. It was not until he was in his twenties that Nicky decided to try and track down Stella and his biological father, Joseph.

A tale of heroism from one of our exhibitors

One of our regular exhibitors to the show, Susie Douglas from Borders Ancestry, has spent time researching her own ancestral line.  She encountered a fascinating story of her great uncle and his tremendous work, of which the impact is still felt today.

Letters of Stephen Burgess Hewitt

One of the highlights of working on the show is the wonderful family stories we get to hear. Susie Douglas from Borders Ancestry regaled us with one such story recently.

On a recent holiday to Rome, Susie got to further her research into the tremendous feats of her Great Uncle, Stephen Burgess Hewitt.
