Maritime genealogist and writer, Dr Simon Wills, is the author of six books. His first novel 'Lifeboatmen' was well-received on its publication in 2014 and was shortlisted for the Mountbatten Maritime Literature Award. Simon has been researching seafaring forebears for over 25 years, and is a regular contributor to many family history magazines. He is also an information adviser to the NHS.

Mike Sharpe is a professional genealogist, writer and lecturer specialising in the local and family history of Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. Sarah Paterson is/was Family History Librarian at the Imperial War Museum, and [has] worked there for 27 years. She is the author of Tracing Your Family History: Army and edited the other books in this Imperial War Museum series. Tracing Your Prisoner of War Ancestors: The First World War was published in 2012, her book relating to tracing prisoners of war and civilian internees in the Second World War is due out later this year
